Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has issued a notice to CM Hemant Soren in the mining lease case. The court has sought a reply from Hemant Soren in the matter. The court said that complete information in the case should be made available to the court. A few days ago, the incident of allotment of stone quarry lease in the name of CM Hemant Soren came to light. A PIL was filed in the High Court in the matter. The court has also ordered a reply from the Advocate General on the matter.
The PIL was filed in the Jharkhand High Court against Chief Minister Hemant Soren on February 11. The PIL was filed by advocate Rajiv Kumar on behalf of the applicant Shiv Shankar Sharma. The PIL, on behalf of the petitioner, had stated that Hemant Soren is also the Mining Minister, CM and departmental minister of the Forest Environment Department. He himself had applied for environmental clearance and got the mining lease. Doing so is an abuse of office and a violation of the Representation of the People's Act, so the entire incident should be investigated by the CBI.
Along with this, the petitioner has also approached the court to cancel the membership of Hemant Soren. The petitioner has demanded the high court to direct the governor to grant prosecution sanction for the FIR against CM Hemant Soren.
