Punjab's AAP government reshuffles police department, changes commissioners of three big cities

Amritsar: The Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab on Saturday made a major change in the police department. The police commissioners of the three largest cities of the state have been changed. As per the government order, Arunpal Singh has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Amritsar.  Arunpal Singh was till now posted as IG, Jalandhar Range. Kaustubh Sharma has been made the new Police Commissioner of Ludhiana and Gurpreet Singh Toor has been made the new Police Commissioner of Jalandhar.

Along with this, the state government has also changed the SSPs of 5 districts. For example, Swapan Sharma has been made ssp of Jalandhar Rural, J. Ellenchejian as Bathinda, Deepak Hilori as Ludhiana Rural and Gaurav Tura as SSP of Mansa. In Fazilka, IPS Sachin Gupta has been removed and PPS officer Bhupinder Singh has been appointed as the new SSP. It is worth mentioning that ever since the AAP government was formed in the state, the reshuffle has been going on. 

Recently, the deputy commissioners of 10 districts were changed. According to the list that came to light, the deputy commissioners of districts like Amritsar, Patiala, Pathankot, Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot, and Hoshiarpur were changed by the government. IAS Gurpeet Singh Khaira was sent to Muktsar Sahib. Sandeep Hans was transferred to Hoshiarpur. Hardeep Singh Sudan was given the responsibility of Amritsar. While IAS Preeti Yadav has now been sent to Rupnagar, IAS Sakshi is going to take over the responsibility of Patiala.
