The Punjab and Haryana High Court has said in one of its important decisions that if the married son deserves a compassionate appointment, the married daughter cannot be denied this right. The High Court has directed the Punjab government to hire the married daughter of the deceased employee in a month.

Amarjeet Kaur, daughter of the deceased employee, had filed a petition in the court. In which he told that he was married in 2004. But she was living with her parents with her husband and children. The petitioner said that she was the only child of her parents. So she was doing this for the purpose of service.

Be aware that his father used to earn money in the whole family. He was employed in the Punjab Police. In 2008, he died of a heart attack while on duty. After which the petitioner applied for the job according to compassion. While giving a report on behalf of Tarn Taran CID in 2009, it was told that there is no income available with the family. He has cultivated only 1 acre. But still on 15 April 2015, the Punjab DGP rejected the application saying that, the married daughter cannot get a compassionate appointment. This decision was challenged in the High Court. The High Court has ruled in favor of the daughter after the hearing. Because the constitution gives equal rights to all.
