The 11th season of the Indian Premier League is going to begin in a couple weeks and the teams have already begun with their practice camps. Every cricket lover is ready for the summer carnival to commence. Each season has been a captivating one and we have witnessed several unbelievable performances by almost every team. It is interesting to note that throughout the history of IPL, teams that have managed to score quickly in the first six overs of their innings have gone on to perform well in the match.

5. Kings XI Punjab-86 for 1 vs SRH (2014)

The 39th match of 2014 IPL season was a run-feast. At the end of first six overs, KXIP managed to score 86 runs at a run rate of 17.20. Punjab went on to win the game quite comprehensively as they chased down the target with eight balls to spare.

4. Kochi Tusker -87 for 2 vs RR (2011)

In this one-sided encounter between the Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Rajasthan Royals in Indore, the former emerged out as winners. Rajasthan was put into bat first but they were bundled out for just 97 runs. Brad Hodge bowled a classic spell by picking up four wickets and giving away just 13 runs.

3. CSK -90 for 0 vs Mumbai Indians (2015)

The 2015 IPL edition witnessed some prolific chasing by Chennai Super Kings in a match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede. The opening pair helped their team to 90 runs in first six overs, in the process bringing the required run rate down to just over a run-a-ball and shattering the morale in the MI camp.

2. CSK- 100 for 2 vs Kings XI Punjab (2014)

Chasing a mighty target of 227, CSK started off badly. Their opener, Faf du Plessis fell for a duck in the very first over. But then came a storm with the batting of Suresh Raina as CSK managed to pull out 100 runs in the powerplay.

1. KKR- 105 for 0 vs RCB (2017)

The duo added 105 runs in the first six overs making it the highest ever powerplay score in IPL history. With a thundering fifty off just 15 balls by Narine, KKR went on to win the match with 29 balls remaining.
