New Delhi, India: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai ordered the closure of schools and colleges in the state for the next three days amid a controversy over wearing hijab in college.
"The Karnataka High Court has issued instructions, which we are awaiting. Students, I implore you to maintain peace and unity. I've told school administrators to make sure there are no conflicts between students. I urge all concerned persons to refrain from making aggressive statements "In Delhi, the Chief Minister of Karnataka addressed reporters.
Bommai took to Twitter to say, "I urge to all students, teachers, and school and college administrators, as well as the people of Karnataka, to keep peace and harmony in the state. For the next three days, I've ordered that all high schools and universities be closed. High schools and colleges have been given three days off. All parties involved are asked to work together."
