Bangalore: In the wake of the intensifying hijab controversy in Karnataka, the higher education department has issued instructions to close all degree colleges, universities and professional course institutions till February 16. Earlier, the higher education department had announced the closure of these educational institutions from February 9 to 11.
However, in the meantime, there is no clear order to keep schools of classes 11 and 12 closed. However, a meeting was held on Friday under the leadership of CM Bommai, in which CM Bommai has issued guidelines regarding the opening of schools in the state from Monday. On the opening of schools, CM Bommai said precautionary measures should be taken to prevent any untoward incident. He said the Superintendent of Police and the DCs should visit big schools in sensitive areas and ensure that no untoward incident takes place in the sensitive areas.
CM Bommai also said that the DC, superintendent of police and DDPI should be in constant touch with the principal, teachers, parents and the school management board. He was also directed to be in constant touch with public representatives, dignitaries and seniors of the district.
