New Delhi: As expected, the mega auction for the 15th season of IPL 2022 has had a banging start. Team India's senior opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan got off to a great start to the 2022 mega auction by Punjab Kings by buying him for Rs 8.25 crore. Dhawan first witnessed a fierce bidding war between Delhi and Rajasthan, but later Punjab Kings also made an entry in the match and defeated Delhi and won the contest. 

Shikhar Dhawan, who played for Delhi Capitals last season, will be seen in a red jersey for Punjab this season. Dhawan became the first player to be sold in this mega auction. The first bid for opener Shikhar Dhawan was made by Delhi Capitals, after which a tough contest was witnessed between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and DC. 

After Rs 4 crore, Punjab Kings also started bidding for Shikhar Dhawan, after which there was a tough contest between Delhi and Punjab. Let us know that Shikhar Dhawan has previously played in this league for Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.
