Shimla: major accident has taken place when seven youths drowned in govind sagar lake near Baba Garibnath temple in Una district of Himachal Pradesh on Monday. In fact, 11 youths, residents of Banud in Punjab-Mohali, were on their way to baba balaknath temple to have darshan. During this time, they stopped near the lake and out of it, 7 young men got down in the lake and started bathing. Due to lack of knowledge of the depth, a young man went more inside the water and at the same time the accident took place. The incident was reported to the police by fellow youths.

After which the district administration and rescue department teams immediately reached the spot and divers were dropped to find the missing youths in the lake. By evening, the bodies of seven youths had been fished out of the lake by divers. Among those who drowned were a 14-year-old teenager, two 16-year-olds, two 17-year-olds and a 34-year-old man. According to information, earlier a young man had landed to bathe in the lake. Suddenly, he began to drown while bathing. After which when the rest of the youths landed in the lake to save him, but they also drowned. Seeing this, 7 young men lost their lives.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 3.50 pm at Govind Lake near the village Kolka Baba Garib Das Mandir. It is also being said that all the 11 people had descended into the lake to take a bath. Hearing the screams, the local people somehow pulled out of the 4 people. Police and administration reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported, divers took out the dead bodies of the youths by descending into the lake.
