NEW DELHI: In a recent show of excellence at the World University Games held in China, Surya Pratap Singh Banshtu from Rohru tehsil in the Shimla district earned a well-deserved Bronze medal in the 50M shooting event. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh extended his heartfelt congratulations to the young achiever.

During a meeting in New Delhi, Surya Pratap, accompanied by his father Virender Singh, received appreciation from the Chief Minister for bringing honor to the country through his exceptional performance on the international stage. The Chief Minister hailed the shooting champion's unwavering dedication, making Himachal proud and serving as an inspiration to the youth.

In a tweet, Sukhu praised Surya PS Banshtu, expressing admiration for his journey to success and commending his coach and father, Mr. Virender Singh Banshtu, for their vital roles. The Aradhana Shooting Club in Rohru, operated by the Sports Authority of India, played a significant part in nurturing Surya Pratap's talents.

Under the guidance of his father, who has dedicated seven years to sharpening his skills, Surya Pratap showcased exceptional talent and determination in the field of shooting. This recent Bronze medal at the World University Games adds to his list of accolades, including a previous Bronze in the World Championship in Cairo, Egypt, and a Silver medal in the Junior World Cup in Sulhe, Germany. With his accomplishments, Surya Pratap Banshtu stands as an inspiration for aspiring athletes, and the nation eagerly awaits his future endeavors.
