Shimla: The counting of votes for the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections is underway and the initial trends show a close contest. In the trends so far, the BJP is leading on 34 seats, while the Congress has taken a lead on 30 seats. Let us tell you that in the 68-seat Himachal Assembly, the majority mark is 35 and in the event of a tight contest, politics of manipulation may begin. In such a situation, the Congress has activated its strategists. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda have been deputed for crisis management.

According to sources, the Congress MLAs may be kept in a hotel in Chandigarh or elsewhere. The Congress fears that if there is a difference of only two or three seats, the BJP may try to poach its MLAs. Being in power at the center, MLAs can be influenced by BJP. Along with this, there is a tussle between Pratibha Singh and Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu over the post of CM. Taking advantage of this, the BJP can break some MLAs by luring them into the cabinet. This is the reason why Congress is already scared of the results and is preparing a plan to save the MLAs.

Congress's tussle can also be understood from the fact that Pratibha Singh has already staked a claim on the chief minister's post. She heads the state unit of the party and is the wife of Virbhadra Singh, the six-time CM of the state. Virbhadra has a huge mass base in the state. In such a situation, Pratibha is also claiming in the name of his legacy. Let us inform you that out of 68 seats in Himachal Vidhansabha, BJP won 44 seats in 2017. This time also the BJP has claimed victory and has spoken of ending the tradition of change of power. At the same time, Congress has said that the tradition of changing the rule will continue.
