Shimla: Energy state Himachal Pradesh has now started preparing to earn profits by selling electricity directly to other states of the country. Sales are now through Central Energy Exchange with commission paid. At the same time it is also being said that the state is getting an annual income of about 650 crores from this process. It is also proposed to take support of private consultancy firm under the plan to increase this income to 1200 crores. Soon the matter will be finalized and sent for Cabinet approval.

It has been learned that Himachal currently sells electricity to various states during the summer season. Himachal does not require much electricity during the summer season. In such a situation, Himachal runs this power by withdrawing this electricity given in summer in the event of reduced production in winter. Where the state has started withdrawing electricity given on banking with interest to provide relief to the neighboring states from summer. Earlier, we used to withdraw as much electricity as was given.

According to the information, the electricity board has now prepared a plan to sell electricity to other states by making another new arrangement. Under this, where the commission game ends, Himachal will also get good electricity prices. On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, a meeting with departmental officials was also held in the secretariat under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Ramsubh Singh. It is also being said that Ramsubh Singh instructed the officials to prepare the proposal as soon as possible.
