Shimla: Every country is making various efforts to deal with Corona. Meanwhile, the import of 2300 tonnes of seabuckthorn from China has been blocked due to a dispute over the Line of Actual Control. This has created a crisis on the production of 120 items in India. These include products like immunity booster Chyawanprash, tea, juice and jam. Troubled by the non-receipt of raw material, the company, Biososh Business Private Limited, Faridabad, Haryana. Has written a letter to the Himachal government, requesting to complete its deficiency in India by planting seabuckthorn in about 2000 hectares of forest area in tribal cities.

In a letter written to the CM on behalf of the company's director Arjun Khanna, the company said, currently India needs about 3000 tonnes of seabuckthorn while only 700 tonnes are available in India. India will need 5000 tons of seabuckthorn in the year 2025. On behalf of the company, this letter has also been sent to BS Parshira, director of Lahaul-Spiti Seabuckthorn Co-operative Society. Parshira said in his statement, for more than a decade, work has been done to plant seabuckthorn in forest areas in tribal areas.

Work has been going on for the past two decades for cultivating seabuckthorn in Tribal District Lahaul Spiti. There have been many workshops from Kullu to Shimla, but the Forest Department did not show interest. A year and a half ago, the Seabuckthorn Association of India sent a proposal for a project of 250 crores on the orders of the government, but only dust is accumulating in the files. The proposal was sent to plant seabuckthorn on 6000 hectares of land in Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur and Pangi forest areas. The same has not been decided yet.
