Sarma is also the coordinator of the Northeast Democratic Alliance. He said that people should not think that this bill is against the interest of their culture, language and heritage but they are giving shelter to the unfortunate people, that is why the government will hold a cabinet meeting in Parliament in November this year, before 2014 Countries had come and considered India as their homeland in which Bengali Hindus as well as Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains would all be granted Indian citizenship.
