Amarinder: Congress party Councilor Sukhraj Aulakh had made controversial remarks on Hinduism in Bathinda, Punjab, after which his protest has started. On Monday (August 30, 2021), Hindu organizations and activists expressed their anger against the Congress corporator by performing Hari Kirtan on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami. The march reached Annapurna temple on Amrik Singh Road from Fire Brigade Chowk.

The march also went to several temples including the ancient Hanuman Temple and Sanatan Dharma Temple at the post office market. It was attended by several Hindu women and men. Devotees who arrived to see Janmashtami's tableau also condemned the congress councilor's statement. Veenu Goyal led the movement. Explaining the motive behind the fury march, he said that Lord Krishna had saved Draupadi's shame, now it is time to save the shame of Hindu sisters and daughters.

Accusing the Congress corporator of making objectionable statements about Hindu daughters-in-law, he said people's faith in Congress governments has now been lifted. He also demanded immediate registration of FIR in the matter. Sandeep Pathak of 'Shri Hindu Takht' alleged that state finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal is defending the Congress councilor. He also spoke of a boycott of Congress in the 2022 assembly elections. Congress councilor Sukhraj Aulakh had made controversial remarks on brahmin society and women which has led to outrage among Hindu organizations.
