NEW DELHI: On Sunday, December 19, a delegation of 87 Indian Hindu pilgrims will arrive in Pakistan to take part in religious rites at the historic Katas Raj Temple near Chakwal.

On Friday, Syed Faraz Abbas, Deputy Secretary of the Evacuee Waqf Property Board, greeted the Hindu yatris as they arrived at the Wagah border crossing in Lahore. The temple is regarded as Pakistan's oldest and holiest Hindu religious site. There is also a sacred pond associated with Lord Shiva, according to Hindus. On Sunday, members of Pakistan's Hindu community will also visit the temple.

Speaking on the occasion, Abbas stated that all arrangements, including security, lodging, and transportation for the yatrees, had been completed. According to the report, he said that relevant officials from the Evacuee Waqf Property Board would also accompany the Indian pilgrims.

From December 17 to 23, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi issued visas to 112 Indian Hindu pilgrims. On December 23, the pilgrims would return via the Wagah border.
