Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the property of the son of Syed Salahuddin, the leader of the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. Syed Salahuddin's son Syed Ahmed Shakeel is also a terrorist. He is currently imprisoned in the case of terrorist funding. NIA has taken this action under the UAPA Act. The properties of Syed Ahmed, son of Syed Salahuddin, which have been sealed by the NIA are located in Srinagar and Budgam cities of Jammu and Kashmir.

After sealing the properties, the NIA has put up attachment notice boards there. It is written on this board that, 'All are informed that the properties of Syed Ahmed Shakeel, son of Syed Salahuddin, located at Narsingh Garh, Mohalla Ram Bagh, Srinagar have been sealed. He is a declared terrorist. NIA has taken this action under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) by order of the special court. Syed Salahuddin's two sons Syed Ahmed Shakeel and Syed Yusuf were doing government jobs. However, both were found raising funds for terrorist activities in the year 2018. After this, in the year 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir administration had dismissed both of them from their jobs. Along with these two, the administration had also dismissed 9 other government employees involved in terrorist activities.

The NIA had found in its investigation that both the sons of most wanted terrorist Syed Salahuddin, Syed Ahmed Shakeel and Syed Yusuf used to raise funds for the terrorist activities of Hizbul Mujahideen. Both were found collecting and transferring these funds through hawala. Syed Ahmed Shakeel worked as a lab technician at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura. At the same time, Syed Yusuf was working in the Agriculture Department of Jammu and Kashmir. After being sacked from the job, now the sealing of assets is being seen as a big blow to Hizbul Mujahideen and terrorism.
