Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has declared 23 March as a state holiday, the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh. In fact, he made this announcement in the Punjab Assembly here on Tuesday. Let us tell you that during this time the House also passed a resolution to install the statues of Bhagat Singh, Dr. BR Ambedkar and the first Sikh ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the assembly. Simultaneously, on the concluding day of the assembly session, Mann proposed to declare Bhagat Singh's martyrdom day as a holiday in the state.

On this, Congress MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Waring said that instead of declaring a holiday, it would be better if the students and staff in the school, college were told about the life and sacrifice of Bhagat Singh. However, on Waring's statement, Mann asked the former transport minister, 'Does he know when Bhagat Singh was born?' To this Mann said in the assembly, 'You (Waring) don't know about this? It is September 28. On this day plays will be organized in schools and colleges to tell about the life of the martyr.

At the same time, after the assembly session, Waring took a jibe at the Chief Minister and tweeted, "Bhagwant Man ji, incomplete knowledge is more dangerous than ignorance... Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh's birth anniversary is on September 27 or as you said on September 28? who is right? AAP or Arvind Kejriwal?' Let us tell you that after this Waring shared an old tweet of Kejriwal with his tweet, in which the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh has been told on 27 September. However earlier, Mann proposed to install statues of Bhagat Singh and Dr B R Ambedkar in the assembly. Appreciating Mann's proposal, Congress MLA Pratap Singh Bajwa urged that a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh should also be installed.
