NEW DELHI:  Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister of Cooperation, inaugurated two key road projects in Odisha. The first project, the widened Kamakhyanagar-Duburi section, has been expanded to four lanes at a cost of Rs. 761 crore. Meanwhile, the second project involves the road widening and strengthening from Motar to Baner via Ladugaon, with an estimated cost of Rs. 34 crore. This significant initiative took place in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, and saw the presence of notable figures, including Odisha's Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, and Union Minister of Education and Skill Development, Dharmendra Pradhan.

During the meeting, Shah emphasized the importance of the newly expanded Kamakhyanagar-Duburi highway, stretching over 51 kilometers. This highway is poised to enhance connectivity between the mineral-rich districts of Angul and Dhenkanal in Odisha, facilitating smoother integration with the national highway network.

The government's scientific approach was commended by Shah, as it has accelerated toll collection through fast tags, streamlined land acquisition processes, and efficiently resolved disputes. The utilization of technology and alternative funding methods has also played a pivotal role in accelerating highway construction, thereby boosting economic activities.

Moreover, Shah highlighted the significant financial support provided by the Modi government to Odisha. The devolution and grant-in-aid have seen a substantial increase, rising from Rs. 1,14,000 crore to an impressive Rs. 4,57,000 crore. Additionally, he mentioned several crucial infrastructure projects, social welfare schemes, and disaster management initiatives that have had a positive impact on the state's progress.

Appreciating Odisha's disaster management efforts, the Union Home Minister lauded their success in minimizing the loss of life and property during cyclones and natural calamities. Their proactive measures have set a commendable example for the rest of the nation.
