Honda Cars India has also announced a recall as part of Honda's Global Recall campaign due to the malfunction in the Takata airbags of its cars. Of the five models affected by this recall, Honda City and CR-V have 5,088 units recalled. Honda City has 2,099 units built between 2007-2013. and CR-V has 2,577 units built in 2003-2008 and then 2011. Also included are Accord's 350 units in 2003, Civic's 52 units in 2006-2008 and Jazz's 10 units in 2009-2012. This year, Honda Accord had earlier reported 3,699 units of Honda Accord, which had a malfunction between 2003-2006 and these airbags. The airbags were being activated due to internal pressure. The company will replace the inflators of all these trains.
All these car inflators across the country can go to any of Honda's dealerships to replace them, and the company is not charging any charge from car owners. While the company will try to contact the car owners by itself, the car owner can also check the company's microsite for the vehicles being recalled, where a 17-digit Alpha-Numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) has to be submitted.
