NEW DELHI: The award goes to the winner, and the honor goes to the one who lives India, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said at the 'Bharat Swaasth Mahotsav' on Monday, August 23.

The celebration was conducted to honour the sacrifices and accomplishments of doctors who have received Padma awards in the nation's healthcare system since Independence.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, Union Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar, and R.S. Sharma, CEO, National Health Authority, were also present at the event.

The Padma doctors' congregation was created to honour, celebrate, and recognise the doctors who have received the award for their services to India's healthcare system since Independence.

Mandaviya noted that she understood the importance of the role performed by doctors and other healthcare professionals "The Covid-19 pandemic played a significant contribution from the medical community. The dedication and tenacity of the physicians and other healthcare workers throughout this trying time will go down in human history." The contributions of all healthcare workers, he continued, are priceless.

The Health Minister stressed the significance of the Padma Honor by saying, "All those who have got this award have made efforts from resolution to accomplishment." The minister declared, "With our combined efforts, we can make India a world leader and a symbol of global healthcare in this century.
