On Tuesday, India's National Center for Seismology. An earthquake of 3.9-magnitude struck 61 km east of Katra, Jammu & Kashmir early morning. The earthquake occurred at around 2:20 am on Tuesday (August 23). The depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground.

NCS tweeted, "Earthquake of Magnitude:3.9, Occurred on 23-08-2022, 02:20:32 IST, Lat: 33.07 & Long: 75.58, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 61km E of Katra, Jammu and Kashmir”.

As per the information First Earthquake occurred at 2.20 am, was 61 km east of the Katra area in the Jammu region, The officials said the quake hit at latitude 33.07 degrees north and longitude 75.58 degrees east at a depth of 10 km. The second earthquake of 2.6 magnitudes on the Richter scale occurred 9.5 km north east of Doda in Jammu region at 3.21 am.

The official added, “The third quake of 2.8 magnitudes occurred 29 km east of Udhampur in Jammu region at 3.44 am today, The quake hit at latitude 32.89 degrees north and longitude 75.45 degrees east at a depth of 10 kilometers.” The fourth earthquake of 2.9 magnitudes occurred 26 km southeast of Udhampur at 8.03 am, they said. The quake occurred at latitude 32.83 degrees north and longitude 75.40 degrees east at a depth of 5 km. The fifth earthquake occurred in the Kishtwar district of the Jammu region at 2:17 pm, whose intensity has been estimated at 3.1.
