Lung cancer is the most common of all cancers. A special reason for this is considered smoking. Hence it is advisable not to smoke cigarettes to protect the lungs. However, the assumption is completely wrong that you will not get lung cancer if you do not smoke. The number of such people is increasing, who are falling victim to this cancer even after not smoking. According to a WHO report, the number of non-smokers victims of lung cancer has been steadily increasing, with the maximum number of victims being women.

Cancer disease occurs when the control of cells in the body deteriorates and they start moving in the wrong directions. Lots of cigarettes cause lung damage and are easily vulnerable to cancer. There is a significant difference between smoking cancer and non-smoking lung cancer. This difference occurs in the genes of cancer cells. Cancer in general is caused by changes in the EGFR gene in non-smokers.

In non-smokers, there are many more reasons for lung cancer besides non-cigarette smoking due to lung cancer. Passive smoking is also called second-hand smoking. In this, a person does not smoke directly, but he is exposed to the smoke emanating from the cigarette of another person. In those non-smokers who live with cigarette smokers, the risk of lung cancer increases by 24%. Cases of lung cancer from passive smoking are increasing steadily.
