Chennai: The inquiry report related to the death of late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa has been submitted to state CM MK Stalin. The report has been submitted by retired Justice Arumughaswamy to Chief Minister Stalin, who was entrusted with the probe into the death of former CM Jayalalithaa. Arumughaswamy submitted a 590-page report on Jayalalithaa's death to Stalin. After Jayalalithaa's death, many questions were raised. It was being said that there was negligence in her treatment, due to which she died.
Jayalalithaa had fallen ill in September 2016. She was treated at Apollo Hospital in Chennai for more than 2 months. She died on December 5, 2016. After submitting the report to CM Stalin, Arumughaswamy said in a statement, 'At least 158 witnesses and petitioners were examined in this investigation case. Some people said I tried to drag the investigation." He further said, ''Whether this inquiry report is to be made public or not is for the government to decide.'' Arumughaswamy further said that Apollo Hospital and Sasikala have fully cooperated with the investigation.
Arumughaswamy said, 'First of all, I thank the Supreme Court for reposing faith in the Commission and allowing me to proceed. Second, I thank the state government. Because the government said before the top court that it has faith in the commission. There is no delay on my part. I completed my work within 13 months.' Let us inform you that after the death of Jayalalithaa, a panel of 6 doctors of Delhi AIIMS was formed last year (30 November 2021) on the directions of the Supreme Court. This panel was formed to help the Justice Arumugaswamy Commission.
