Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray has stepped up his attack on Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's faction, calling them "traitors". At the same time, the Shinde group broke the resolve not to target anyone from the Thackeray family, calling Aaditya Thackeray a 'Yuvraj'. MLAs of the faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde feel that Aaditya Thackeray has crossed the line and is spreading lies against them. The dissident MLAs, sitting on the steps of Vidhan Bhavan on the last day of the Assembly session, displayed banners opposing Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's son, Aaditya Thackeray, saying, "Yuvraj has lost his way."

Then Aaditya Thackeray accused the MLAs of the Shinde faction of rebelling against the Shiv Sena for money and shouted '50 Khokhe, Ekdum OK.' The Maha Vikas Aghadi government fell in June due to rebellion by MLAs of the Shinde faction. Subsequently, rebel Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the CM of Maharashtra.

Earlier on Wednesday, MLAs of the BJP and Shinde faction had protested similarly, attacking former CM Uddhav Thackeray and Aaditya Thackeray. He had shown banners accusing the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) of corruption. He had also alleged that the Thackerays had compromised with Hindutva for power. This is perhaps the first time the MLAs have targeted the Thackerays since they revolted against the Shiv Sena leadership in June. Aaditya has been visiting the areas of the rebel MLAs for the past few days, calling them "traitors" and accusing them of backstabbing their father.
