New Delhi: The BJP has slammed chief ministers who boycotted the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, terming their decision as "anti-people" and "irresponsible". The 8th meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog began here on Saturday. In this meeting, many issues including health, skill development, women empowerment and infrastructure development will be discussed with the aim of making the country a developed country by 2047.
BJP veteran and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a press conference that NITI Aayog is an important body to set goals, create a framework and roadmap for the development of the country. He said that in the 8th meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, there is a proposal to discuss 100 issues, but the Chief Ministers of 8 states are not coming to attend it. "Why are they not coming to attend the meeting in which 100 issues are to be discussed. If such a large number of Chief Ministers do not participate, they are not raising the voice of their states." Ravi Shankar Prasad said that it was very unfortunate, irresponsible and anti-people. "How far will you go in opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi? '
"You will get more opportunities to oppose Modi, but why are you harming the people of your state? Prasad said the decision of the eight chief ministers to boycott the meeting was "completely irresponsible" and also "against the public interest and interest of the people of their states".
