Javed Akhtar is one of the renowned lyrists in Bollywood. The veteran lyrist is very outspoken on different issues and remained in for his statements. Javed Akhtar recently attended an event in Lahore Pakistan. He talks about terrorists behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks still roaming free in Pakistan.

Pakitani actor Ali Zafar recently hosted Javed Akhtar in a Dinner Party. The actor is receiving criticism on welcoming Javed when he has said things against Pakistan. Now Alia Zafar finally reacted to this controversy and slammed Javed Akhtar. He took to social media and wrote, “Guys, I love you all and truly value your praise and criticism equally. But I always request one thing – verify facts before reaching any conclusion or judgement. I was not present at the Faiz Mela nor aware of what was said until the next day when I saw it on social media.”

He further added, “I am a proud Pakistani and naturally no Pakistani would appreciate any statement against its country or people specially at an event meant to bring hearts closer than further. We all know how much Pakistan has suffered and continue to suffer at the hands of terrorism and such insensitive and uncalled for remarks can deeply hurt the sentiments of so many people.”

Earlier Ali sharing the picture with Javed Akhtar wrote, “It was an honour to host him. I have always believed art & music transcends boundaries and is the best way to bring people together. Love is the ONLY way to peace. Thank you @Javedakhtarjadu sahab for gracing us with your presence. Thank you Faiz sahab for keeping us connected.”

 Javed Akhtar in the event said, "The attackers weren’t from Norway, or from Egypt. They are still present in your country, so you should not be offended if an Indian complains about this.”  The veteran lyricist said India has hosted several Pakistani artists in the past, but Pakistan has never hosted singer Lata Mangeskar.  

 Actor  Savoor Aly reacting to this wrote, “Koi apne ghar mein aa kar beizzat kar ke ja raha hai upse khushi se shor machaya ja raha hai aur phir qadmoun mein baitha ja raha hae . What a shame!" She added , "All the educated illiterate – the so-called niche – you never gave the same respect to your own talent. There were so many artists in this country that didn’t even have money to afford healthcare at the end of their lives. Where were all of these appreciators of talent back then?”
