The whole country is going to celebrate the festival of Nag Panchami on Saturday, 25 July this year. While the whole world sees snakes as life-threatening creatures, India respects snakes and pays special respect to them and worships them as gods. Our country is also called a country of festivals. Every day a festival is celebrated in some state, district or town. There are very few days left in the festival of Nag Panchami and today we are going to tell you how finally the serpents were born?
Know the secret behind the origin of snakes
It is mentioned in the Shiva Purana that all kinds of snakes originated from the womb of Kadru, the wife of sage Kashyapa and also believed to have given birth to thousands of sons by Kadru. In which Anant, Vasuki, Takshak, Karkotak, Padma, Mahapadma, Shankh, Pingala and Kulik Nag were also born. Kadru, the mother of the serpents, is called the daughter of Prajapati Daksha.
The 5 serpents considered superior in our country include Sheshnag, Vasuki, Takshak, Karkotak and Pingala. Among them, Vasuki Nag is the one who later accepted to be enthroned in the neck of Lord Shiva. Of all the serpents, the best Sheshnag and Anant are called the king of serpents. The names of Vasuki, Takshak and Pingala are taken after Sheshnag.
