Surat: More than one case of encroachment is coming to the fore in the whole country, which is surprising. One such case has come to light from Surat in Gujarat, where an attempt has been made to encroach upon the civil hospital by building an illegal tomb. The hospital administration has written a letter to the police urging them to remove this illegal tomb located on the premises. A video of the tomb is also becoming increasingly viral on social media.

It is clearly visible in the video that a mazar is present in the hospital premises and a concrete construction is being done around it. However, the hospital authorities have now written to the police urging them to remove this illegal construction. In a letter to the Surat Police Commissioner, the hospital authorities have said that there is a mazar behind the radiology department and near the oxygen plant located next to the kidney building. Some anti-social elements have illegally constructed this mazar.

The letter states that, 'This unauthorized tomb is spread over an area of 17.5 x 17.5 feet. You are requested to kindly look into this and take necessary steps to remove illegal encroachment on government property. The letter urged the police to take action against anti-social elements. A man, speaking on condition of anonymity, said he did not know how long the tomb had been on the premises, but has now urged the police to remove the illegal construction. According to sources, the administration has become active after Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) protested against the tomb in the hospital premises. Earlier this week, VHP activists had given a written application to the hospital authorities regarding the unauthorized shrine.
