WhatsApp  is bringing up an exciting new feature called "Pinned Events" in its mobile app. This feature was spotted by WABetaInfo on the latest version of the WhatsApp app for Android (v2.24.3.20).

According to WABetaInfo's findings, the Pinned Events feature will enable community members to set reminders for specific events directly within group chats. Screenshots shared by WABetaInfo indicate that WhatsApp is designing a system to automatically highlight planned events at the top of the community info screen.

This functionality aims to keep everyone informed about upcoming activities within the community. Although currently accessible only to WhatsApp Beta testers, it's anticipated that this feature will roll out to all users in future app updates.

In addition to Pinned Events, WhatsApp is also exploring a new file-sharing feature for Android users. Similar to Apple's AirDrop, this feature will enable users to share files with nearby individuals seamlessly. The update, version 2.24.2.20, is presently undergoing testing through the Google Play Beta Program.
