YouTube has announced a price increase for its Premium subscription service in India, impacting all plans including those for individuals, families, and students. The price adjustment means that while some plans have seen only a minor increase, others have become considerably more expensive. It is not yet clear if existing subscribers will have any grace period before the new rates apply.
The updated prices are now visible on YouTube's official website. For the recurring Individual plan, the monthly fee has gone up from Rs.129 to Rs.149. The Family plan, which allows up to five users to share the subscription, has experienced a significant rise, now costing Rs.299 per month, up from Rs.189.
The Student plan, though still the least expensive option, has also been slightly adjusted, increasing from Rs.79 to Rs.89 per month. Prepaid plans, which do not renew automatically, have also been revised. Here are the details of the new prices:
