Huzurabad by-election: It's a big struggle for Congress

Huzurabad: It has been a huge struggle for the Congress since Padi Kaushik Reddy joined the TRS. With Swargam Ravi, considered the next best, also joining the TRS, the doors are almost closed for the Congress which is looking to make its presence felt in the bypolls. The political landscape has changed once again with the TPCC in a dilemma over finalizing its candidate for the Huzurabad assembly by-election.

Now the candidature of Konda Surekha has come to the fore. With no more options, the Congress leadership supported his candidature. TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy was supposed to announce his name at the Ravirayala public meeting, but withdrew the decision after some senior leaders reportedly analyzed that it could be a boomerang.

It is hard to believe that the Congress can make any impact in the Huzurabad by-election. All that wants to ensure a face-saving result. Another senior Congress leader said that when politics in Telangana revolves around Dalits, it is better if an SC candidate is given a ticket. Sufficient enough to believe in this theory, the Congress leadership hurried back and left the decision to its high command in Delhi. It is learned that apart from Konda Surekha, TPCC has also suggested Patti Krishna Reddy and Tipparapu Sampath (SC) for Huzurabad ticket.
