Hyderabad FC defeated Northeast United 5-1 in the Indian Super League (ISL) to finish second in the points table. Chinglensna Singh (12th minute) scored the first goal for Hyderabad after which Bartholomeu Ogbeche (27th and 78th minutes) scored two goals. The other goals were scored by Aniket and Xavier at the last minute. Laldanmaviya Ralte scored northeast's only goal in the 43rd minute. Hyderabad scored 10 points in the win.

Earlier, when the Indian Super League (ISL) season was said to start last month that it would start on Tuesday, Hyderabad Football Club (HFC) will try to stay in the top four, while Chennai Football Club will hope to forget last season's poor performance and emerge as a title contender.

Last season, Hyderabad FC almost missed out on the top-four spot, while Chennaiyin FC moved up to eighth place after a top-four high in the 2019/20 season.
