Hyderabad: Man attempts self-immolation on streets of Ravindra Bharathi

The Hyderabad Police is effectively ensuring the conviction of the guilty in many offences. As per the Police Commissioner of Hyderabad, Anjani Kumar, the city has seen a decline in the crime rate in the first six months of 2020.

The City police had registered 12,374 cases between January and June 2019 as against 12,273 cases in the same period this year. The Police commissioner of Hyderabad said that they are not only focusing on reduction in crime but they are also ensuring that criminals get convicted by the court. This year, as per the reports, the conviction rate is 26 per cent.

Recently, in Hyderabad, a man has suffered burn injuries after he set himself on fire near Ravindra Bharathi around noon on Thursday. He has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. According to the cops, the man came towards Ravindra Bharathi from Lakdikapul carrying a bottle of fuel. He splashed fuel on himself and set himself on fire. Police officers posted on Assembly duty immediately quenched the flames and rushed the man to the hospital on a vehicle. The police is still enquiring about the incident.
