Another case of illegal selling of Remdesivir injection reported from Hyderabad. Here Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone, apprehended three suspects for procuring generic version of Remdesivir injections and illegally selling them at higher rates. Let us tell you that police has seized two Remdesivir (Covifor) Injections and three mobile phones from the suspects — Y. Praveen Kumar (30), G. Raju (22) and M Rajender (24).
For your information let us tell you that a team under supervision of P. Radhakishan Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Police (OSD), Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad and Mohd Abdul Javeed, Inspector of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone team along with SIs Mohd Shahnawaz Shafi and T. Sreedhar and the staff of Central Zone conducted this arrest.
Talking about this case, Police informed that accused Praveen Kumar and Rajender used to work in a private company lost their jobs during the lockdown. Noticing the huge demand for Remdesivir injection due to the Covid-19 situation, the two procured the antiviral with the help of G. Raju who works in a medical hall and were selling the injection for as high as Rs 35,000 (per injection) without any valid documents.
