Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police apprehended Sahel, the son of former Bodhan MLA from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi party (BRS), in connection with a rash driving incident. Sahel, who had been avoiding arrest since December last year, was taken into custody at Hyderabad Airport upon his return from Dubai.

Following his arrest, Sahel was brought before a magistrate, who ordered him to be held in judicial custody until April 22. Shoban, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Punjagutta Police Station, stated, "As per the direction of the Honourable High Court, he (Sahel) was surrendered before the Investigation officer. After the completion of formalities, he was produced before the court, where he was remanded for 14 days."

The incident in question occurred at Punjagutta Police Station in December 2023, when Sahel allegedly collided with a traffic barricade near Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad. Following the collision, Sahel fled to Dubai to avoid arrest, according to the police.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident, although the barricade and the front portion of Sahel's car sustained damage.
