Hyderabad: Woman booked for flying drone camera at Charminar

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 6 (NT): A 26-year-old women was held for flying a drone at historic and iconic monument Charminar late Thursday night.

 When police received the information about the woman, they reached the spot and seized drone camera, remote control and started the probe.

According to Station House Officer, Charminar police station, yesterday in the late night, a 26-years-old woman, Suparna Nath, was flying drone camera at historic monument Charminar. This deed is violated prohibited orders of the Hyderabad commissioner of police.

On the booked woman a case has been registered under section 70(b) CP Act and 188 IPC and Further investigation is on.

It is noted that as per a notification issued by Commissioner of Police and Executive Magistrate of Hyderabad City, government agencies and organizations will need to get appropriate clearance from local Police and aviation authorities before launching any Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Unmanned Aerial Survey (UAS) for any reason.

"Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860," the notification further read.

 Worth mention here earlier, Hyderabad police banned the use of drones for a month in April after receiving infromations from the intelligence agencies about the odds of terror attacks. (NT)
