Hyderabad: On second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been many organisations that came forward to help the needy, and city-based NGO Helping Spot Organisation is one among them.

Keeping track of this mission,  the organisation, led by Bhargav Ventrapragada, is offering free post-Covid sanitisation to old-age homes, orphanages and is also aiming at supporting the government by sanitising government offices. “We launched this initiative on July 3 and so far we have sanitised 16 old-age homes and seven orphanages. We have 40 more in the pipeline,” says Bhargav, adding, “More than just sanitising, this is also our way of telling people the importance of sanitising to help combat a potential third wave.”

The organisation is using 99 per cent alcohol-based sanitiser instead of the commonly used Sodium Hypochlorite to ensure a healthier, safer way of sanitising and according to Bhargav, it is costing them about Rs 5,000 for each place. “We have hired people to specifically do this and have trained them as well,” says Bhargav who is funding this initiative from his family’s resources

Last month, the city-based NGO has launched a toll-free number to support Covid-19 patients. The helpline number (1800-309-1111) was launched by the NarayanSeva Sansthan (NSS), an NGO that extends support to persons with disabilities, working round-the-clock.
