New Delhi: Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju while welcoming the Centre's decision to reduce the number of areas covered by the AFSPA Act, said that I feel proud to be a minister in the Government of India today. He further said that after Narendra Modi became the PM, the way Northeast states have been given preference and Look East Policy has been converted into Act East Policy, after that there has been continuous development of Northeast.

Rijiju further said that both development and peace are very important. Now there is both peace and development in the Northeast. Now the decision to remove AFSPA has been taken. This means that now peace has started to be established. Some places are left, peace will be established there soon. The Union Minister said that after 2014, AFSPA was removed in Tripura, then removed from some districts of Assam and now AFSPA has been removed from Manipur, Nagaland and most parts of Assam, which has been welcomed by all. Thanks to PM for this.

He said that many thanks to Home Minister Amit Shah that the way he is taking forward the vision of the Prime Minister, talking to everyone and finding a solution to the problem, it is very important. He said that the first phase of the border dispute between Meghalaya and Assam has been completed.
