New Delhi: India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has no problem playing a role like former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Pandya says that he has developed the ability to handle pressure and he will not face any problem in maneuvering team like MS Dhoni. This 29-year-old all-rounder player is known for his flamboyant batting. The player, who recently captained the team in the T20 International series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, said that he has learned to handle the pressure.
Let us tell you that Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of Team India, used to play such a role in the last stages of his international career. Indian captain Pandya, who won the series 2-1 with a 168-run win in the third T20 International against New Zealand, said, 'I have to take responsibility in another way. Where I always believe in partnership. I want to give more confidence and assurance to my team that at least I am present there.' Pandya said, 'I have played more cricket than other players in this team (T20 International). In such a situation, with experience, I have learned to withstand pressure and ensure that the atmosphere in the team remains calm in every situation.'
Let us tell you that Dhoni is known for his calm demeanor and Hardik says that now it is his responsibility to replace the legendary wicketkeeper. He is ready to reduce his strike rate to play this role. Hardik said, 'Thus, maybe I will have to reduce my strike rate or accept a new challenge. This is something that I see happening. I have no objection to playing this type of role, as Mahi Bhai (Dhoni) used to do.'
Hardik has scored 1,271 runs in 87 T20 matches at a strike rate of 142.17. Pandya said, 'To be honest, I like to hit sixes, but as a player, you have to keep getting better. I have to play some other role and I believe in partnership while batting.'
