Purnea: A tragic incident is coming to light from Purnia in Bihar. Here a girl changed her religion and married a Muslim man. Disturbed by the torture of her husband and in-laws, she hanged herself. On receiving the news of the case, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Police have launched an investigation into the matter. It is being said that the girl had also sought help from the panchayat after being harassed by her in-laws. But to no avail. The family members of the deceased girl are accusing the in-laws of murder. At the same time, the in-laws are calling it a case of suicide.

Sonu Alam, a resident of Mohammadpur village in Purnea, works as a labourer in Bengaluru. He had sent a friend request to Aarti Nag, a resident of Chhattisgarh, on Facebook. The conversation between the two started slowly and the friendship turned into love. Aarti got caught in the trap of her boyfriend Sonu Alam and she converted to Islam. They ran away from home and got married. After that, Sonu brought her to Mohammadpur in Gokulpur panchayat under the Champanagar police station area. It is being said that after a few days Sonu and his family started harassing Aarti.

She was insulted and assaulted during the discussion. Fed up with this, she also pleaded with the panchayat but the in-laws did not mind it. On October 17, she committed suicide by hanging herself. At the same time, the police say that the matter is being investigated seriously.
