Hyderabad: Politics has intensified in Telangana over the arrest of BJP leader T Raja. Now state Congress leader Rashid Khan has also threatened to 'set fire' in the city. Allegations are being made that Singh had made an objectionable statement about Prophet Mohammad. Earlier, there was a controversy regarding the statement of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

Khan, secretary of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, said, "If he is not arrested, I will set the city on fire. If law and order break down then I will not be responsible. He has always been a prankster in the pride of Rasool. If don't take him into custody, I will disturb the law and order of the city.'' He further said, 'The Chief Minister is sleeping, the Home Minister is sleeping. The Muslim community should come out on the streets and if he is not arrested on 23rd August then on 24th August I will convert Goshamahal into an ember.' He said that if the arrest is not made then I will destroy the law and order. Protests started in Hyderabad on Monday night itself.

After the same protest started, the police registered a case against the BJP leader. Action has been taken against them under sections 153A, 295 and 505. The protesters said that Singh had hurt the sentiments of the community. There has also been a demand for his arrest. The police caught the protesters and shifted them to different police stations.
