Shimla: Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama has once again criticised China. The 14th Dalai Lama on Thursday said he would prefer to breathe his last air in India's open democracy and not among artificial Chinese officials. He made the remarks while addressing the youth at an event organised by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) at his residence in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.

Spiritual leader Dalai Lama further said, "The true and loving people of India, in a free and open democracy, he would love to breathe his last. "I had told former Indian PM Manmohan Singh that I would live for another 15-20 years and would love to live in India till the last minute. India is surrounded by people who show love. There is nothing artificial here. If I die in the middle of Chinese officials, it will be quite artificial. I like to die in the free democracy of this country.

In a video posted on Facebook, the Dalai Lama said, "At the time of death... A person should be surrounded by friends who actually have true feelings for you. The Dalai Lama is famous all over the world for his enlightened spiritual teachings and intelligent political views. The Dalai Lama and the Chinese government are often at loggerheads. Chinese officials often regard him as a controversial figure and a separatist figure.
