New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a list of the best players for the month of June. England spinner Sophie Ecclestone has surpassed young Indian batsman Shaifali Verma and all-rounder Sneh Rana to be named the best women's cricketers of the month of June.
In the men's category, the award went to New Zealand opening batsman Devoon Conway. Left-arm spinner Ecclestone is the second england woman cricketer to receive the award. Tammy Beaumont received the award before him in February. Ecoston was the most successful bowler in the only Test match against India in Bristol. He took 8 wickets in this match. After that, he took three wickets each in two ODIs.
Shaifali and Rana were also in the race for the award. He played innings of 96 and 63 in his debut Test match. And then had a brilliant performance in two ODIs as well. Rana scored an unbeaten 80 in the second innings of the Test to save India from defeat. He also took four wickets. Conway, on the other hand, has become the first New Zealand player to receive the award. The left-handed batsman scored a double century in his debut match at Lord's against England and then scored two half-centuries in the next two matches.
