ICC President Ashok Malhotra on Monday appealed to the BCCI to pay attention to the long-standing requests of the institution and said that the former players of old age cannot wait forever. Malhotra was accused by the ICA directors of making public statements without consulting them and talking to the BCCI on matters related to the players' association.

Among the demands that the ICA has presented to the BCCI include pension for ex-players playing less than 25 first-class matches, pension for widows of former cricketers, medical insurance to be increased from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs to Manoj Prabhakar's benevolent fund. Handing over money is also included.

The ban on Prabhakar for match-fixing was over in 2005. Malhotra said, "Now the time has come that BCCI should take note of their demands". Malhotra has said "It has been about 10 months, but nothing has been done for the former cricketers. The ICA was formed for the welfare of former cricketers and many of them have turned 70 years old. They can't wait forever. I am requesting the BCCI to look into the demands again."
