New Delhi: ICICI Bank has said on Monday that it will open 450 new branches in the current financial year to expand its retail network. Of these, the bank has started operations of 320 branches for customers and is under process. ICICI Bank has said in its statement that its number of branches has crossed the 5,000 mark.
The bank has said that another 130 branches will be opened to customers by the end of the current financial year. With this, the bank will have a large network of 5,190 branches, extension counters and automated teller machines (ATMs) across the country. Giving information, an official said that about half of these branches are located in rural and semi-urban areas, which are helping in financial inclusion in the country.
ICICI Bank Executive Director Anoop Bagchi has said that we believe that expansion in a broad branch network is very important for retail banking. It helps build deeper relationships with customers through offering a wide range of products and services. More importantly, these branches provide advice and guidance to consumers on all types of banking needs including mortgage, business banking, other loans and investments.
