Suspicious object found near Srinagar railway station, train service to restart from today

Srinagar: There has been a stir after getting the IED near Srinagar railway station in Jammu and Kashmir. It is being told that the IED has been recovered from near the bridge of Srinagar-Baramulla highway. A bomb disposal squad has reached the spot. Along with this, a search operation is being carried out on behalf of the security forces. Today, after about 11 months, the train service is going to start again.

It is noteworthy that 11 months after the suspension of train services in Kashmir due to corona, operations will resume on the Banihal-Baramulla section from today. There are 17 stations in the Banihal-Baramulla section of 137 km. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had said that from 22 February, train operations will be restored on the Banihal-Baramulla section. The Jammu and Kashmir administration had closed train services in the Kashmir Valley on March 19, 2020, following an increase in corona cases. Last week, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted that the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), which will connect Kashmir with the rest of the country, will be completed by next year.

Earlier on Friday, terrorists opened fire on the police party in the Barajulla area of Srinagar. Two policemen were injured in this firing, who died during treatment. A CCTV footage of the terrorist attack on the police party was also revealed, in which a terrorist was seen carrying out an ambush carrying an AK-47.
