Many times, suddenly stopping the bike while riding a bike is a common problem. There can be many reasons for a bike stopping, some of the major reasons we will discuss in this article.

1. Water in Petrol:

If water is mixed in petrol then the bike may stop. Water does not mix with petrol and cannot reach the engine, due to which the bike may stall.

2. Dirty Fuel Filter:

A dirty fuel filter can restrict the flow of petrol, causing the bike to stall. It is important to change the fuel filter regularly.

3. Bad petrol pump:

A bad petrol pump is unable to deliver petrol to the engine, due to which the bike may stall. The fuel pump may need to be replaced.

4. Dirty or bad carburetor:

A dirty or bad carburetor can also stall the bike. The carburetor may need to be cleaned or replaced.

5. Electrical Problems:

A bad spark plug, light, or wiring can also cause the bike to stall. It is necessary to get the electrical system checked.

6. Engine problem:

The bike may also stop if there is a problem with the engine. If you think there is a problem with the engine, you should contact a mechanic.

7. Problem in clutch:

If the clutch is worn out, the bike may have trouble changing gears and stall. The clutch may need to be replaced.

8. Air Filter:

A dirty air filter does not allow air to reach the engine, due to which the bike may stall. It is important to change the air filter regularly.

9. Chain:

A loose or damaged chain can also cause the bike to stall. It is important to check the chain regularly and replace it as necessary.

10. Tyre:

Underinflated or worn out tires can also cause the bike to stall. It is important to check tires regularly and replace them as necessary.

What to do if the bike stops:

  • First of all, park the bike at a safe place.
  • If the petrol tank is full, check the fuel filter and petrol pump.
  • If there is water in the petrol, empty the petrol tank and clean it.
