Chaitra Navratri has started from 22 March. The nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped throughout the 9 days. In such a situation, some people fast only on the first and eighth day, while some people fast for the whole 9 days. During this, they have to eat fruit and sattvic food. Most of the people like to eat potato or sabudana during fasting because it is prepared very easily and quickly. If you are bored of eating potatoes everyday and you are gaining weight from potatoes, then prepare and eat gourd curry. Gourd is also prepared easily and tasty.

Ingredients for fasting gourd curry:-
1 big bottle gourd
two spoons of desi ghee
1 teaspoon cumin
one teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon red chili powder
rock salt as per taste
lemon juice one teaspoon

How to make fasting gourd vegetable:-


First of all, peel the gourd and cut it into small pieces. Now put these pieces in the cooker and boil for one whistle. Now put desi ghee in the pan and heat it. When the ghee becomes hot, add cumin seeds to it and crackle. Add finely chopped green chillies along with it and add coriander seeds along with it. When all these things are roasted, add boiled bottle gourd to it and mix. Add rock salt and cook it on high flame by adding red chillies. So that the water of gourd dries up. Once the bottle gourd water dries up properly, turn off the gas flame. After it cools down a bit, sprinkle lemon juice and serve with buckwheat or water chestnut puri. If you want, you can eat only bottle gourd vegetable during the fast. They look very healthy and tasty.
