Jodhpur: The number of corona infected patients in India has crossed 2000. Today, millions of doctors and nursing staff of the country who are fighting against Corona are struggling with the shortage of PPE i.e. Personal Protective Equipment. The demand for personal protective equipment for doctors and the rest of the hospital staff is also increasing every day due to increasing corona cases.
So far, nearly 50 doctors and nursing staff in the country have been infected with the corona virus. Many doctors have also expressed concern over the lack of safety equipment. Seeing the need for safety equipment, the team at IIT Jodhpur has created a 3D print face shield, which can protect doctors and health workers from infection of corona. This shield has been made with the help of special 3D printing technology, using transparent protective plastic.
This face shield can prove to be helpful for all health workers, including doctors, amidst the growing threat of corona. Dr. Kaushal's team has created 50 such face shields in 2 days in the Automated Manufacturing Lab of IIT Jodhpur. Like other health equipment, it has also been delivered for trial. This type of face shield can be prepared after approval after testing, which can help in fighting the challenge of Corona in the coming time.
