New Delhi: Heavy rain lashed several parts of the country on Sunday. Senior Met department scientist K Jenamani said that residents of Rajasthan and Punjab may get relief from the scorching heat as monsoon has covered most parts of Rajasthan and parts of Punjab. He also said that people in the country's capital will also get relief from the heat.

In fact, he said the situation remains favourable for Delhi. Monsoon may enter here soon. According to IMD, monsoon is currently active in parts of north India, including Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, people are facing a lot of problems due to incessant heavy rains in Himachal. All flights to Himachal's Kangra airport have been cancelled due to heavy rains and bad weather. Heli taxis and air taxis have also been stopped.

Last night's cloudburst and incessant torrential rains have created flood like situation in many parts of Himachal. Many people have also died due to lightning from the sky yesterday. According to information received, the disaster in Bidli claimed nearly 57 lives in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of deaths. On the other hand, incessant rains in many states due to cloudburst are creating flood like situation.
